No books man… currently reading nothing… I have been busy doing my crochet and attempting to sell my amigurumi combined with making my DIY calling cards and watching Game of Thrones (I am just in season 1 and it’s killing me to watch it because I like Ned so much not because he was such a good character but because he was such a good and decent man; he was a good father and surrogate father, good husband, good friend, honest, fair, kind AND HE DIED BECAUSE HE WAS A DECENT MAN WHY WHY WHY??? GOD DAMN YOU SNAKE CERSEI AND PYSCHO JOFFREY!)

Sweet Lord above when I received an email saying that I was approved for Duke of Desire by Elizabeth Hoyt, I legit shot out of bed at 5 am, downloaded it and finished it in the same day and holy fuzzballs THE BOOK BLEW MY MIND AWAY! BLEW IT AWAY!!! I almost cried because I didn’t want the series to end and also because I didn’t read the others but hell, will I buy it soon!!! I had waited months to read this book and more because I had to wait to be approved and when I did I was all ‘STOP READING ALL OTHER BOOKS! STOP! STOP! STOP!’. I was reading The Last Weeekend by Laura Disilverio at the time by the way.

The Last Weekend was okay for me. Really could not understand the plot but will discuss more in my review.

Also, finished The Duke and The Scot Beds His Wife by Kerrigan Byrne and I highly enjoyed both of em although I enjoyed The Scot Beds His Wife more because it had more funny moments.

The Right Kind of Rogue by Valerie Bowman was a huge disappointment for me. Rated it a 3 but I will explain in my review whenever it is posted as to why it was a huge disappointment yet I still rated it pretty high.

Jesus, I didn’t realize I had read a lot of historical romance this month. Should spice things up with a dash of thriller or something.

I am just putting this here because it’s customary but we all know I have no list of what to read next. I just go with the flow and the flowing is steering me to more historical romance but we shall see won’t we.

I am putting ‘An Offer From a Gentleman‘ on the back burner for now because my mind is getting kind of tired with the historical romance trope (see I do get tired of historical romance too ya know). Now, this is rare for me but I am SUPER STOKED to read ‘Holiday in the Hamptons‘ because the heroine in this book of Felicity Knight and I got a teaser of her romance in ‘New York Actually’ and I was beyond intrigued so when I knew it was on Netgalley I had to request for it and I JUST GOT APPROVED FOR IT TODAY!!!! ‘Murder on Black Swan Lane‘ will probs be my second read.

Recently finished:

Read ‘New York Actually‘ and ‘Lies Jane Austen Told Me‘ consecutively actually so both of them only took me two days and a half then I had to literally force myself to stop reading because including last weeks books I have been reading all of them consecutively and I can FEEEEELLL my eyeballs are straining to keep up and for a girl who already has glasses with the degree of 500 plus I better take the hint.

Reading next:

Huh. I tried making a TBR for myself and I tried to stick to it. It didn’t work. I lined up 6 books already set for me to read so I can reign in the beast that is my Netgalley books list but it completely went haywire and I only read 2 out of 6.

Wow two Regency era-ish books and one contemporary but inspired by a woman who lived in the Regency era (correct me if I am wrong though).

I went on a reading rampage, okay not really because the Sherlock Holmes books and Pride and Prejudice were audiobooks. With Julia Quinn’s books, that I really did went on a reading rampage. After I finished ‘Because of Miss Bridgerton‘ I immediately read ‘The Duke and I‘ and subsequently ‘The Viscount who loved me‘ (both of which I read and finished in the same day, how is my eyes still functioning is a mystery to me). Aside from ‘Ensnared‘, June proved to be a very good reading month and it isn’t over yet yeay!

Reading next:

All books by Julia Quinn especially the Bridgerton series. I will attempt to finish reading it all by the end of this week.

Was supposed to be The Captive Heart but I wanted something fun and upbeat to counter the murder mystery I just finished so Geekerella it is.

This book was okay I suppose. I didn’t really like how it panned out at the end but I’ll explain more when my review is out.

Yeah, still attempting to read Dorian Gray albeit unsuccessfully. It is not my fault that the book is tedious to read what with its intense and in depth prose. You really need a lot of focus to read it man.

Stalker on the Fens and The Captive Heart is my random Netgalley choices for this week and they seem like a very interesting read. One is detective-murder-mystery-ish whilst the other is romance with a hint of murder mystery at least according to my understanding of the blurb.

I will try my very best to finish these two first and Dorian, well with him I’ll see how it goes first.

I had a good reading week with these two and gave them both a 5 rating. With Evidence of Love I loved how it delves into the lives of everybody that was even slightly connected to the gruesome murder of Betty Gore in the 1980’s whereas Finding Kate, I liked how it managed to change my mind about it the more I read it. I was out to hate this book and at the end I was impressed how it wasn’t how I initially thought it would be.

As you guys who have been reading my blog knows I really don’t like to set whatever I am reading next. I like to go with the flow but I really have to get on top of my Netgalley TBR list and thus I chose Geekerella and Above Suspicion. Why I chose these two was because there was a lot of hype surrounding Geekerella and I want to see is it worth it and also I think these two books complement each other. After reading some heavy material that is Above Suspicion (what with it being non-fiction) I can read Geekerella to take a chill pill.

Now if I manage to read all of this that means 6 down in my TBR list and another 76 more books to go. Huh. Why did I go overboard with Netgalley, all the articles I read said to control oneself. CONTROL ONESELF! and I have obviously gone and done the EXACT OPPOSITE.

It has been a month plus and still I have not finished this book. Don’t be fooled by how thin the book is because reading it is intense. Everything said and done is so flowery, I have to re-read it so many times to fully understand what is being said and the characters are just so vile.

I don’t know man. There is so many unread books in my Netgalley list, I don’t wanna pressure myself. I read what I feel like reading. I am getting cold feet just looking at my Netgalley TBR list. It’s more than 80 unread books. You read that right… there are EIGHTY BOOKS (plus plus) waiting patiently to be read by yours truly.

The 13 Problems by Agatha Christie and The Psychopath Whisperer by Kent A. Kiehl. Both these books were given to me as Christmas presents by my two best friends, Jell and Cyril. I have never read anything by Agatha Christie and Jell who has read her work work recommended and actually gave me one of her books for me to read. Am reading it now and so far so good, Miss Marple seems like a devious old lady to me and The Psychopath Whisperer well it’s no secret I am intrigued by that of psychopaths and the workings of their minds.

Death and Her Devotion (Rogue Vows #1) by Kendra Elliot, Burned by Her Devortion (Rogue Vows #2) by Melinda Leigh, Between the Devil and the Duke by Kelly Bowen and. OMG! I just realized now I had read two books by the same author. Why didn’t I realize this sooner? Unfortunately for you the reviews for these books will only be up in February 2017. Why you ask? Well, it is because I have so many backlogged reviews from back when I was in my reading/blogging slump that when I got to doing them I realized I was fully booked for reviews for the next two months.

I borrowed some books from the library for the Popsugar 2017 reading challenge that I am planning to do so maybe I will read those first but we will see because I tend to change my mind. The books that I borrowed are A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini and Percy Jackson and the Greek Heroes by Rick Riordan.

Death and Her Devotion by Kendra Elliot (Rogue Vows #1)

To be quite honest I read this kind of halfway and left it to read something else so now I have to reread it because I completely forgot everything. Ma bad. I requested it in Netgalley pretty much because I thought the cover was pretty cool. Has a very ethereal out of this world feel, if you get what I mean.

I am starting to think that whenever I read a 5 star rating book (in my opinion), I will definitely read a book that is just ugh or worse leaving me so confused I have no idea what rating nor review to give it. Why? I was already frustrated enough reading the ending for ‘The Devil’s Prayer‘ then for me to read something so not worth my time such as ‘The Bachelor Auction‘ which let me tell you girlfriend was so all over the place what with characters that defo do not act their age is just B-SHIT….AND THEN to read a story that was so confusing for me as to whether it was good or bad or in between or WHAT???? until I have no idea what rating to give it on Goodreads I just gave it a 3  (I am talking about you ‘All Darling Children‘ don’t you try to slither yo-damn-self away from me). I just feel so frustrated man. FRUSTRATED! Can anybody just relate to how I FEEEEELL?? THE FRUSTRATION I FEEL IN MY HEART??? Huh. Cait from PaperFury was right when I took her quiz of what type of book reviewer am I and I got ‘The Flammable Feels Master’ and damn straight I am! Huh. I legit feel so sad over my frustration with the two books I just read. They ruined my happy reading streak. HAPPY READING STREAK *pooooof out the window* Her post/quiz is here btw, you guys defo need to try the quiz. It is so much fun.

I seriously have no idea how people just know what to read next? How? Tell me how. I usually go into deep debate on which book to read from my Netgalley TBR list. DEEP DEBATE PEOPLE…WITH MYSELF. Maybe I will read another romance novel or the next novella in the Rogue’s Vow series. Maybe. I ain’t promising nothing.
